Every cabinet contains a rarest specimen.

The Golden Moth is the final discovery within the Cabinet of Curiosities and the rarest appointment awarded during the campaign.

While twenty-four recipients will receive Field Notes appointments and twelve will be selected for the Curators 12,

only one individual will discover the Golden Moth.

More than a prize package, the Golden Moth is an appointment.

What the Golden Moth Receives

The Golden Moth recipient will receive:

How the Golden Moth Is Found

The Golden Moth is not entered separately.

Eligibility is earned through participation in the Cabinet of Curiosities.

A single brass Golden Moth will be hidden among the thirty-six Field Notes 24 and

Curators 12 packages assembled for the Cabinet of Curiosities Class of 2026.

Thirty-five recipients will open their package and discover the collection they were expecting.

One recipient will discover something more.

Inside their parcel will be the Golden Moth and the appointment that accompanies it.

The Library of Colors

At the heart of the Golden Moth appointment is the Library of Colors.

A complete collection of all twenty-seven colors within the Metamorphosis Collection assembled in Petit Pot sizing.

Part reference library, part collector's archive, the Library of Colors was created to give the recipient access to the entire Mélange palette for experimentation, study, and creative exploration.

No other appointment within the Cabinet of Curiosities receives the complete collection.
