Fragrance

Available in three signature Mélange Apothecary fragrances.

Each scent is inspired by old libraries, botanical studies, natural history collections, and well-loved workshops.

The Archivist: Dried herbs, cracked peppercorn, hints of spice, moss, and aged balsam evoke the quiet atmosphere of an old-world apothecary, lined with leather-bound volumes and well-worn wooden shelves.

The Botanist: Crushed leaves, wild blossoms, sun-ripened fruit, and earthy patchouli—like wandering forgotten garden paths with a satchel full of specimens.

The Naturalist: The honest scent of raw hemp oil and golden beeswax; nothing added, nothing to distract from the materials themselves. Created for kitchens, workshops, and well-loved wooden tools, it's the companion for cutting boards, butcher blocks, and every object where simplicity is the finest finish.

Care Notes

Store at room temperature.

Because this product contains natural waxes, it may soften during hot weather or become firmer in colder temperatures. This is completely normal and does not affect performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it food safe?

Once fully absorbed and buffed, the ingredients are commonly used for conditioning wooden kitchen items. Allow the balm to absorb completely and wipe away any excess before use. Use the unscented option to avoid fragrance on these items.

Can I use it on painted furniture?

Yes.

It is excellent for refreshing cured painted finishes, especially high-touch areas such as tabletops, drawer fronts, cabinet doors, and edges.

Can I use it on leather?

Absolutely.

It helps soften and condition boots, belts, bags, journals, and other vegetable-tanned or finished leather goods.

As with any leather conditioner, test on an inconspicuous area first.

Will it make surfaces shiny?

No.

It leaves behind a low-luster satin finish that enhances the natural beauty of the material without creating a glossy appearance.

How often should I use it?

Most furniture benefits from conditioning every few months.

Frequently used cutting boards or leather goods may benefit from more regular applications.

Does it contain silicone or petroleum?

No.

Board & Boot Finishing Balm is made with botanical oils and natural waxes and contains no silicone or petroleum-based ingredients.
