PAPERWHITE
Formerly Sonnet White
Paperwhite is the cleanest white in the full Mélange color system, a practical companion white designed to give the Metamorphosis Palette room to breathe. It is not one of the twenty-five printed palette colors, but it is essential to the way the collection functions on furniture, cabinetry, built-ins, trim, and high-contrast interiors.
Paperwhite gives the darker colors a crisp edge and keeps the earthier colors from feeling heavy. Against greens such as Fieldnotes and Bracken, it feels botanical and fresh. Against darks such as Blackbriar, Primeval, and Absolute, it becomes architectural. Because it is neutral rather than creamy, it can be used when Bone or Lunaria would read too warm.
The effect is bright, controlled, and refined without becoming cold. It is the utility white to reach for when you need clarity, contrast, and a dependable foundation for layered color work.
Undertone: Neutral White, Minimal Warmth
Light Reflectance: Light
Temperature: Warm
Collection: Whites & Lights
Best for: Hutches | Dining Room Furniture | Traditional Cabinetry | Library Built-Ins | Vintage Case Pieces
Neighboring Colors: Bone, Lunaria, Vellum
Pairs Beautifully With: Fieldnotes, Heartwood, Absolute
Recommended Design Styles: Organic Modern | Modern Traditional | Scandinavian | Transitional | Minimalist
